The new product imos 360 makes it possible to involve the end users in the design and order process of the furniture manufacturer.

imos 360 is a modern communication platform for the exchange of order data between manufacturer and customer. The manufacturer provides their customer the design and presentation data out of imos CAD via the Cloud. The customer uses their smartphone or tablet to look at the projects or comment them. The result: The customer becomes an active part of the process chain.

imos 360 is offered as an add-on to imos CAD 11.0. The customer can download the necessary imos 360 apps easily and free of charge from the Apple App Store.

The following apps are available in the App Store and are free of charge:

imos 360: This app offers a new communication channel for manufacturer and customer. Pictures, quotations or other documents can be presented and commented via the app.

imos Viewer: The “imos viewer“ offers an Augmented Reality function, which makes it possible to project virtual furniture into real rooms.

Furthermore, the app offers a direct access to the E-Mail and camera function of the mobile device. This allows the customer a fast and easy way to get in contact with the manufacturer.

Augmented Reality (AR) means a computer-aided view of a real world environment with a supplemented computer generated projection.  Camera views, pictures or videos are shown with virtual objects added digitally. This technology is implemented into the “imos viewer” app and allows the user to visualise virtual furniture in real rooms. The camera function of the mobile device provides the real environment and imos 360 the 3D model, including material and colour representation.

The furniture can be moved easily in the room via the touchscreen. The customer gets a perfect impression how the furniture might look like in their own four walls. They can use the integrated E-Mail function to contact the manufacturer should they require any modifications to the item.  The different furniture designs can be recorded within the real environment. Then it is possible to share and discuss the images with friends on social media platforms.

Download the “imos viewer“ app, which includes some examples, to try the system yourself.  For the Augmented Reality experience you will need the imos “marker”. The marker scales and positions the furniture true to the original scale. Click here for the pdf.

It is also possible to scale the furniture manually by the touchscreen function of iPhone or iPad.

The manufacturer can provide 3D panorama views via the “imos 360” app. So it is possible to present a complete room planning on the mobile device. A special effect: The picture on the screen does not only move by using your fingers on the touchscreen, but also by moving the whole iPad.

The manufacturer can provide a wide range of data via the “imos 360“ app for his customer. For example cross section drawings, quotations or renderings, which were created in imos CAD. Furthermore it is also possible to upload photos or PDFs in the Cloud.
